Rachelle joins us all the way from The Empire State of New York and she is proud to call Houston home. You heard her as the host of the Afternoon Show on KSBJ and she’s elated to now join you in the mornings! She’s passionate about spreading the love of Christ and humbled to share Jesus and His music with you. When she’s not on-air, you can find Rachelle spending time with her husband (Sammy), their two boys (Sammy and Caleb), their two spoiled Jack Russell terriers (Dodger and Chrissy) and their beta fish (Peter). Tune in to the Morning Show and you might also catch Rachelle humming a tune, tapping her feet, or reciting a poem - she enjoys giving God the glory through the Arts! Her favorite scripture passage is Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Carder is excited to be a part of the KSBJ Morning Show! He was raised in northern Oklahoma and went to college in the Oklahoma City area. Carder worked at a couple of different stations before doing the morning show for NGEN Radio, KSBJ’s sister station. Carder’s favorite verse is Hebrews 2:18, “For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted”. Carder says, “The fact that Jesus actually came down and went through everything we did is incredible. When we suffer or struggle with something… he can relate! Carder is married to a beautiful girl named Kelsey, and has one “fur-baby” named Benson. He’s been in Houston for a year and loves it, but STILL isn’t used to the traffic.
Jen hosts the Midday Show on KSBJ and has a blast doing it – it truly is her dream job! She grew up listening to Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 and was excited every Sunday afternoon to keep track of the top songs in a little journal. She never imagined she’d have the chance to be playing the top songs in Christian radio! Her love for music runs deep as she studied music performance at the University of Michigan (go Blue!) and Rice University (go Owls!!) She loves praying with you and hearing your stories, all while encouraging you and playing uplifting music. When she’s not on-air, you can catch her cheering on her sports teams (especially her hometown Kansas City Royals), running, reading, enjoying live music, spoiling her two Pugs Daisy and Ike, and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and CHARM Prison Ministry. And she’s forever trying to remember the lyrics to the songs on KSBJ so she can sing along with them just like you do when you’re cruising the Houston freeways. Her favorite verse is Psalm 19:14, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14.
Raised in Atlanta, GA and Tampa, FL, Carlos has the South in him as much as he does his Puerto Rican roots. Rap, Reggae, Rock, Merengue, Salsa, R n’ B, Soul, Funk are like a musical gumbo for him. Carlos shares, “I love music. Always have. It’s been in my life for as long as I can remember and I got into radio because of it. To be able to tell their stories, talk about their songs and see people react in the same way I did when I first heard it. Still blows my mind.”
Carlos’ break into radio as a “real DJ” started with two turntables and a crate full of records when he was brought into a Christian radio station in Tampa, FL, to mix live on Friday nights. Even though he “had many chances to work in mainstream radio,” he just never wanted to. Carlos said “It’s not in me. I live for Christ daily and want to show that in my actions and tell as many people as I can about Him. Radio is a pretty big platform and, thankfully, so far it’s all worked out. God is good like that.”
His wife, Amber, is a Houston native who attended Texas A&M University and is solely responsible for converting him into an unapologetic Aggie Football fan! Father of one so far, 2-year old Dominic is their #SortaRican blend of the best parts of Amber and the parts of Carlos that get the little guy in trouble from time to time.
Morgan is originally from Maine and her husband, Joshua, is from Texas, but they met in California … and their little boy, Karl, was born in Oregon!
After so much moving Morgan and Joshua decided that it was finally time to put down roots and settle in, and there is no better place for that than Texas. She loves her family, coffee and Jesus, but not necessarily in that order!
Morgan and her husband like to play tabletop games and she thinks of herself as a knitter, even though she’s only ever knitted two scarves. As a bit of a chronic worrier, a verse that Morgan leans on is Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
With over 30 years of broadcasting experience under his belt, JP is KSBJ’s Evening Show Host and can be heard from 7 PM to Midnight. Though he’s the voice of numerous commercials and promotions over the Houston air-waves, he’s one of the most humble guys you’d ever meet. JP has been married for over 20 years and has two teenage boys – one a student at Texas A&M and the other still in high school. This down-to-earth golfer loves to lead worship and utilize his gifts at KSBJ.
“Evolution” is the best word to describe Manuel “Manny” Garcia. With over 10 years of experience, his desire is to change the face of media one platform at a time. Manny has been one of urban culture's most consistent supporters of the Latino, Hip-Hop, Christian and CHH sound. He's well-known for his support of the person behind the music as well. Artists like Social Club Misfits (FERN & Marty), Rhema Soul, GAWVI and Leslie Grace did some of their first interviews on FNFLive, an iconic radio show founded by Manny himself. When the Christian Hip-Hop genre was skeptical of artists trying to do things outside the box, he played those who didn’t always fit in - he's an original misfit. He also enjoys blogging, vlogging, podcasting and more, but his greatest roles are husband, father and believer.
Coppelia was born and raised and Puerto Rico. She met and married her Boricua love Adam. They moved to California and had two kids before coming to H-town! Coppelia loves her family and spending as much time with them as she can. When she’s not on the radio, you can find her singing and leading worship at her church. Or she might be trying to squeeze in a workout — bootcamp, zumba or running. She actually finished a half marathon at Disney World and wants to do another one!

Chris Chicago is passionate about hit music. He has worked with some of the biggest names in Christian music and is responsible for many successful singles on the Billboard Christian CHR and Rock charts. Chicago has been in the radio and record industries for well over a decade specializing in promotion, marketing and problem solving. He also hosts the #1 syndicated Christian Hip Hop show on Rapzilla.com “Live With Chris Chicago,” heard in over 70 markets across the globe. We are super excited for Chris to be part of our fam as our Program Director and Afternoon Show host.
A self-proclaimed "overdramatic weirdo," Angela loves connecting with people (and often embarrassing herself) live on the radio. Some call her a hipster. Others just don't know what to call her. She is recent graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in Broadcasting and background in music business. All it takes is a mention of music, coffee or traveling to get her excited.
As Production Director, Sterling is the mastermind behind KSBJ’s promotional spots that capture the listener’s attention in between songs. From helping our listeners go deeper into the songs through creative bits he writes for our DJs to promoting the next KSBJ Special Events concert, he has countless creative ideas up his producer sleeves.
Sterling’s 40 years of experience is vast as he specializes in creative writing, editing, dramatics, music and Christian messaging. Before joining KSBJ, he served as Senior Creative Producer of Focus on the Family and Director of Creative Services at The Word in Music Satellite Network. A regular presenter at Christian radio industry events and subject expert for trade publications, Sterling enjoys sharing his insights on creative copywriting and production with his radio peers.
Married for over 30 years, he is a proud husband and father of two young adults. When he’s not behind the board, you can find Sterling studying electronic music creation and writing devotionals.
My name is Gavin Dees and I am the Promotions Manager here at NGEN Radio, which basically means I am the guy you’ll see running around H-Town in the NGEN van, smiling + fist bumping almost everyone I see. Jon Hull’s love for Christian radio goes back to 1976 when he got his start at WCVC in Tallahassee, Florida. His 40 year career has taken him all over the US and finally to the KSBJ team in 1996 where he serves as the Senior Director of Mentoring. Jon has been widely recognized by numerous publications like CRW Magazine, Radio & Records Magazine as well as the recipient of countless awards and accolades like the Scott Campbell Award, Major Market Program Director of the Year and the R&R Christian Radio Programmer of the Year, just to name a few. When he’s not leading KSBJ in its mentoring efforts, you’ll find Jon spending time with his family (his wife Karen, their two daughters, sons-in-laws, and three grandchildren), gardening, cooking, and playing drums and percussion in his church’s worship team. After 40+ years of award-winning experience in Christian radio, Jon Hull’s service to the KSBJ team and to Christian radio in general cannot be overstated.
Joey K is a member of Atascocita Community church and calls the Humble area is home. As a child, he started his own radio station in his house that could broadcast to the next street. His love for radio eventually brought him to KSBJ where he started out as an intern in 1995. Joey continued to grow his radio career and landed as a KSBJ DJ in 2001. He and his wife of 16 years, Priscilla and daughter, enjoy time with their dog, Teddy, and bunny rabbit, Mini, as well quality time as a family.
Here’s what you need to know about Reyna: she loves to laugh. A lot. If she can make a joke out of something, she will, and you better believe it will be funny! Reyna and her husband, Gabriel, love Jesus and love telling other about Him and how He changed their lives. Reyna has been at our sister station, KSBJ, for almost five years. She’s been helping out NGEN here and there along the way, but we finally decided to make it official. Reyna is going to be a regular on the air at NGEN radio and nothing is going to stop her!
Joe Paulo, President and General Manager of KSBJ, most recently served as Director of Stewardship and Communication for K-LOVE and Air1 Educational Media Foundation. Before that, he called Columbia International University home for 20 years where he was the Director of Broadcasting, managing WRCM in Charlotte, NC (“New Life 91.9”) and WMHK in Columbia, SC. Joe also volunteered for eight years on the board of Christian Music Broadcasters and completed a three-year term in September as Chairman of the Board. “To me, working in a ministry context is not about having a job,” says Joe. “It is a calling because it is about contributing to an organization that seeks to reach people with the life-changing hope and love only found in Jesus Christ.” Joe has been married to his wife, Kelly, for 27 years. They have three daughters and two sons, ranging in age from 22 to 9. The couple is passionate about marriage, parenting and adoption and have hosted or spoken at numerous marriage and parenting events in recent years. Additionally, Joe received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Liberty University in 2014.

All requests should be made at least 21 days in advance of the event
Please have a first and second choice when requesting a KSBJ personality
Honorarium should be received at KSBJ at least two weeks prior to the event
Honorarium should be in the form of a check or money order and should be made payable to KSBJ.

Emcee $200.00/ 2 hours ($100.00 for each additional hour): The KSBJ emcee will add value to your event, whether it’s introducing artists or speakers on stage, or making fun announcements at your family festival.
Speaking Engagement $300.00/ 2 hours ($150.00 for each additional hour): The KSBJ speaker will prepare a presentation for an organized event based on the organization’s topics of interest and deliver the presentation with excellence.
Retreats $500/ 2 sessions: The KSBJ retreat speaker will travel to the retreat location and prepare a presentation to deliver while onsite as well as engage with the group.
Once your request has been submitted, you’ll receive a reply within 10 days confirming a KSBJ personality for your event. After DJs are confirmed, you will be given contact information to correspond directly with the DJ to format the script/agenda that will support the organized event. Depending on their schedule, KSBJ emcees can attend a pre-event planning meeting if conducted at the KSBJ Station. Pre-meetings can also be scheduled via Skype or phone if necessary. In some cases, KSBJ must decline requests based on staff availability and scheduling conflicts. We make every effort to confirm your requests.
