surprise weekend in NY!
Last January I got this brilliant idea to have one of my great friends photograph my best friend Amanda Carroll and her family. I thought since they live in DC now, a photoshoot in NY (where Chris lives, my friend and my roommate Lindsey’s older brother, you follow?) would be perfect. I pitched the idea to Greg, Amanda’s husband, and he didn’t even hesitate to set up a weekend trip with Amanda and Emily. Lindsey and I decided too that we were due for a visit to the Big Apple. And somehow we managed to keep this trip a secret from Amanda for almost 2.5 months!!
Lindsey and I called in to the show on Friday afternoon since we knew Amanda was driving to NY and wouldn’t be listening to KSBJ. Click here to hear our call from Chinatown!
We had a blast and hung out on a beautiful Saturday in Central Park… our good friend Christi Ensberg (former Houston Astro Morgan Ensberg’s wife – they are now in NY and Morgan is with the Yankees!) was going to meet up with us as well, however one of her twin boys had a fever and they had to cancel. We walked the park, ate ice cream and hot dogs and said outloud “Wow, we’re all walking through Central Park in NY together… so crazy!” I’m a firm believer that life is too short to not dream big crazy weekend schemes.
Amanda looks amazing and is due with baby #2 in October! Please be praying for Amanda, Greg and Emily… such an exciting time of their lives!

Sounds like you had an awesome trip!! It was so good to hear Amanda on the radio when you called her yesterday. I’m so happy for her, Greg, and Emily as they await baby #2!
