We had a fascinating interview this morning with Connie Grigsby with the book How to Get Your Husband to Listen to you. We found out the book isn’t so much on how to change your husband, but on how to understand him a little better. Click below to listen to the interview…..

“I have a recipe with the smokies. Use chile sauce a whole bottle and 1 jar grape jelly put in crock pot and put in smokies and cook on low until hot keep mixing to melt jelly and chili sauce together. You can also us meatballs in this!” - Rexan Price

Little Smokie Pockets
Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of canned biscuits (or more biscuit packs if serving a crowd)
  • Little Smokies – 1 per biscuit (cut in half)
  • BBQ sauce (favorite brand at a scant TBS per biscuit)
  • Cheddar Cheese (scant TBS per biscuit on the cheese too)

Directions:
Roll the biscuits out flatter. You can do this with a rolling pen or just mash them out flat with your hand. You want them large enough to cover a Lit’l Smokie cut in half. This will be thinner with the store brand biscuits and thicker with the premium biscuits. Both work fine. I lean to the less expensive store brands on this one.

Cut the Little Smokies in half long-wise. And, then place those in the middle of the rolled out biscuits.

Top the Smokies with the barbecue sauce and cheese. Don’t overdo it. It doesn’t take much to add a bit of flavor.

Roll the mashed biscuits up around the Little Smokies and seal off by mashing the edges tight.

Bake at 375 degrees F for around 15 minutes. Times can vary depending on the oven. When the bread is done (nicely browned), the Lit’l Smokies are ready.

Don From Coca Cola’s Bean Dip
Now take it from Mike and Liz, this dip is delish!
Refried beans
Jalepeno (keep the juice)
Cheez Whiz
Sour Cream
Grate Cheddar
Rotel tomatoes
Mix everything together, jalepeno juice included, put in a bowl and top with a layer of sour cream and cheddar! Done!
Snack #1 - This is always a House favorite.

Put a log of Velveeta in a Crock pot (Slow Cooker).  Of Course, turn it on.
Brown One pound of meat with a package of Taco seasoning on the stove.
As meat is browning, pour a can of Hot Rotel in with the cheese.  Add one can of Ranch-style beans with Jalapeno’s to the cheese and Rotel.
When the meat is done, pour into the Cheese.Stir occasionally until cheese is completely melted.

Optional:I cut-up two fresh Jalapeno’s and put in.  Makes it a little spicy.

Snack #2 -  This is good, but you have to like deer.  I have never tried it with Hamburger or sausage.  Probably just as good.Brown your Venison with seasoning to taste.  I use a little season salt.
As the meat is browning, take a log of Cream cheese and let it get to room temperature.
Take as many Jalapeno’s as you think and slice in half long ways.  Take out seeds and use in mixture or discard.
When the meat is done, mix the cream cheese and seeds with the meat until you feel it is mixed completely.
Then take the spread and spoon it into the Jalapeno halves.  Eat right then or let cool down.

Both snacks are not for the spicy-challenged.  They are not overly hot, my 2 year-old son eats them both like they are going out of style.Just a quick note as well.

I want to Thank KSBJ.  I moved to the Houston area about a year ago.  All I ever remember listening to is Rock music.  I believe God was speaking to me, as I could not find a good station in Houston.  I found KSBJ and I can probably count on one hand how many times the station has changed.  And that is only because I left the city for a couple of days.Thank You, Thank You, Thank You,  I strongly believe KSBJ and God are saving my marriage right now.
