Houston SPCA officials say 61 purebred dogs will be readied for adoption after a breeder turned the animals over to the shelter. Officials say costs associated with caring for the huskies, golden retrievers and German shepherds apparently became overwhelming for the owner in Waller County. Tanning for teenagers…..So a teenagers under the age of 16-1/2 can’t tan, but they can go get an abortion. Some law makers have their values upside down. I do understand our desire to save the children from cancer, but how about saving them from not getting to live their lives?

I read the speach and it was good. I don’t understand why parents wouldn’t want their children to hear it. It was a good speach.

Louise, I don’t think the issue was about the speech itself. It was a good inspirational speech. I think the issue is, “who has the right to speak into your child’s life at school without parental permission or parental notification.” I believe we should teach our children to respect the office of the President, however whether we voted for him or not, WE should be respected as parents who are in charge of the raising of our own children. Government can tend to get too big and too powerful. God help us if they ever decide they can step in and take over the parent’s job as is done in other countries.

This older gentlement was telling me about the Toyota recall a few weeks ago at the car wash. He said that the problem is that the accelerator gets stuck. It make me kind of nervous because both my mom and I drive Toyotas.
