My favorite smile these days belongs to a little boy who is only 6 months old. Ryan, my grandson, has a grin that is amazing and can melt your heart. Well, if not YOUR heart, it melts mine! There is something so very special about the fact that when he sees me…he breaks into such an all out grin. You know the kind of smile that makes your whole body tense…his little neck comes up, his eyes widen…and that little crooked grin spreads across his mouth…and then he opens his mouth up for a full on toothless smile (sometimes accompanied by a squeal!). It does me so much good! I feel so special and so blessed to see that just my presence makes for a reason for him to smile.
I read in the Bible that God feels that way about us too! That we are special to Him. I read that he finds us precious! I read that God THINKS of us throughout the day…that He sings over us with delight! I’m thinking that must also be accompanied by a smile! (it only makes sense!)
When God smiles it can literally light up the darkness…and that He smiles at the thought of me! He smiles at the mere thought of YOU…doesn’t that send shivers down your spine…put little goosebumps up your arm! ?
I love it when Ryan lights up when he sees me…but I can only imagine that moment when I get to meet God face to face…walking into His presence in heaven and see him smile……for me……..mmmmmmmm.
