My grandson is fast approaching his one year birthday…and NANA (that’s me) can barely believe it’s gone so fast! He is such a joy and I’ve learned so much about the way God loves us. I’ve decided that God loves us not only like a parent – giving us all kinds of guidance and instruction…provision and care…but He also loves us like a grandparent. I don’t worry about the little things with Ryan…I love that little guy in spite of what he gets into…I could simply watch him all day as he learns to walk, finds new things in his world and trys out his own skills. He doesn’t have to perform or achieve for me to love him…he IS and that’s enough for me to be deeply and forever in love with him. I KNOW that God loves us that way too!
I love the thought..that God enjoys watching me learn to walk spiritually, to find the new things in HIS world for me and HE takes delight in me…simply me being me! I don’t have to perform for Him or achieve for Him to love me…He loves me totally as I am…I WANT to achieve for Him…I WANT to perform for Him…but HE only cares that I am His…WOW! God not only is the greatest Parent – He’s like a truly amazing Granddaddy too!
Baby Ryan is beautiful and I couldn’t resist showing you! So, here goes….

luv the pics, and about the bible reading from the kendall/iphone,,,,,,remember sword drills, now i guess whoever can type the fastest will win, i cant like it at all. i pray that ‘books’ will always have a place in society. for instance, how do you make notes in the margins of a kendall when studing the word. or highlight specific references. i cant like it. it is weird and seems sooooooo sad.

Susan, your sweet grandson is precious! Being a grandparent is such a blessing! I have been a grandmother since I was 42. Now at 60, God has blessed my life with 6 grandchildren – 2 granddaughters (ages 17 and 5) and 4 grandsons (ages 12, 2-4 years and 2). I just spent my vacation last week (Wednesday-Sunday) with my 12 year old grandson. What a wonderful blessing from God! I brought him back from Longview to Bryan where I live to visit. Enjoy that grandson. Pray for him, kiss him, hold him and hug him as often as you can!

Oh my gosh, grandbabies are the best. I have four! My first granddaugher was just as you described…..I could just watch her and get weepy eyed. All of them are all that…… my girls…my little mr. man….. It doesn’t matter what the parent thinks….hahaha…their mine!
And to add a comment….they love us just because of who we are…no other reason…just because we are oursevles. I love them so much. I never thought I could love any other children as much as I love my own two children……..I was wrong!
So, in that, I know God can love all His children, young, old, weak, strong,…..he loves all his children of the world, red, yellow ,black and white we are precious in his sight. Awesome God!
God Bless and Keep you Safe,
Nanny

Susan,
We went to the Casting Crowns concert last night in Beaumont and it was awesome! Thank you so much to KSBJ for sponsoring this wonderful event.
If it hadn’t been for this event, I wouldn’t have reconnected with an old friend from High school whom I haven’t seen in 30+ years! She rode with my family and I to the concert and we had the most fantastic time catching up. I now have a new sister in Christ! Not to mention that this was the first Christian concert for my husband and 9yr old son to attend. They loved it! Not to mention that my son was SO EXCITED to see Jen Driscoll!! Ha!Ha!
Thank you all again! You and Casting Crowns have enriched our lives through Christ more than you can say!
Blessings,
Donia
