The number of confirmed swine flu cases at a single Houston elementary school doubled yesterday. Twenty-four students at Travis Elementary have tested positive for the virus. The inundation of affected children makes the Heights neighborhood campus the nation’s second largest outbreak in a single setting. The only location with more confirmed cases is a school in New York City with 59 sick children. Travis Elementary is closed until May 26th.
NASA is thrilled with what Atlantis’ crew has done with the Hubble…they’re ready to release the school bus sized telescope back into space…and scientists say now with all the work they’ve done on it…it’s actually 90 times more effective than when it was originally launched 19 years ago!

Officials near Galveston found a chest full of photographs and other memorabilia last week…they believe it’s from someone’s home that was damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Ike last September. The name Donald Pickard from Oklahoma was on some of the items inside.

Please be praying for the family of a man who has disappeared after he and his children were involved in a boating accident while they were fishing…their boat capsized near an oil rig off the coast of Port O’Conner. The teenaged children were rescued by workers on the rig…their father floated out of sight. The Coast Guard is searching for the man.
Sleep may be a big factor in weight loss. A study of nurses at Walter Reed Army Medical Center found that those who slept less tended to have a higher body mass index than those who slept more. Doctors believe getting less sleep may disrupt natural hormonal balances and increase stress.
