When I walked into the darkened room with my daughter, Megan,  and our two gift with purchases (my grandchildren from her husband’s first marriage)…I held a little plastic shopping bag.  Inside that bag was a little blue outfit just in case we were having a baby boy….and a precious little lavendar outfit for a baby girl.  I chose lavendar because I used to dress Meggie in lavendar when she was an infant so I thought it would be perfect for her little baby girl too.

The technician walked in and began the sonogram…we watched little grey, white and black flecks become an outline of a little body.  There was a little head and face, there were two arms and two legs…I was pretty sure that was the right count.  The little heart was beating and all four chambers were perfect.  She measured the head, checked the little tummy…and all along the four of us wanted her to go a little lower and just put us out of our misery..tell us…boy or girl!! But the little one had crossed legs and wasn’t going to make this easy.  The technician thumped a little and tickled a little more and our little one rolled and low and behold, the technician typed the words on the screen that my daughter had been waiting for – IIT’S A BOY!

His name is Ryan William…Ryan for Nolan Ryan  and William is my son-in- law’s middle name.  Patrick (baby daddy) was so thrilled he first didn’t believe it, then giggled like a little girl and then finally began to cry…so thrilled he was about to have a son!

Isn’t it amazing how loved a little 12 ounce baby boy can be in a matter of seconds…It reminds me of how the Bible says that God watches as we are being knit in our mother’s womb.  It is so thrilling to know this little one is going to be such a special gift to his family!  Praise God he is healthy!

I’m having a grandson!

Susan, Congratulations on “The BOY!” They are definitely easier than girls! I have triplets, 2 boys and a girl…trust me….boys are easier! Not only that they REALLY love their mothers and grandmothers! May God bless you all! By the way, Andrew and Carson are fine names to add to the list!

Congrats to you all I’m very happy for you all God bless you and I pray that your daughter will have a safe and no problems delievery. I have two daughters and I can tell you that with both of them when I saw they were girls me and my husband we’re thrilled, We both wanted girls how ever we would have been just as thrilled if we were having boys. Children are truely a gift from God.

Congratulations on your grandson. Great choice of a name too-we have a 21 year old son named Ryan William and a Megan too! God bless your family.
PS If you could remember our Ryan in your prayers as he is in need of a kidney transplant, we’d greatly appreciate it.

    Susan,

What exciting news, “Grandma”. I love boys ’cause they love their moms unconditionally. When my son was ten years old, he thought I was so perfect and that was special. He is still wonderful to me. Thank God. Speaking of God, I love your comment this morning – “God is never early but he never late” to make us realize that he is there. So true how impatient and doubtful we can be. It’s a great reminder.

Thanks for the inspiration from your show.
