Leilanie, Layne’s 8-year-old daughter, has a diagnosis of autism and doesn’t speak. She loves listening to KSBJ because she might hear “Better Than a Hallelujah” by Amy Grant. One day, Layne didn’t have the radio on and chatted with his daughter on the way home as usual – until the unusual happened.
In 2011, Greg’s father passed away, and three months later, his wife of 23 years fell in love with someone else and filed for divorce. Dark thoughts began creeping into his mind, and he began to feel alone like he had never before. Who would have thought where his journey would lead because of KSBJ.
Cathy and her son, Jon, are devoted fans of NGEN and love listening. Because of Jon’s medical problems and through repeated doctor appointments and hospital visits, NGEN can go with him in these places. Jon gets something from what he hears. Songs minister to her as well and are prayer reminders for her.
A trio of stories portrays the presence of KSBJ’s prayer and prison ministry for those living with the reality of prison life. In the shadows of prison, KSBJ is a guiding light in a very dark place. A mother feels closer to her son knowing they are both listening to KSBJ every day. From his prison cell, Charles is motivated for the challenges of the day through KSBJ’s music and joins KSBJ’s prayer team.
