About Special Events

An event ministry started by KSBJ, the KSBJ Special Events corporation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, whose purpose is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ by producing Biblically-based events and to unite Christians of all denominations together to focus on their common love of Jesus. Truly creating a church without walls, the impact of these events resonates across cultural, denominational, race, age, gender, political, social, and economic boundaries. In the last fiscal year, Special Events produced 24 Christ centered events, including 9 free events, bringing over 94,000 people together to worship and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Each event that KSBJ Special Events produces is very intentional in making the ministry and the message of the Gospel the primary focus. We share the gospel in a variety of ways that is unique to each of our events. While the delivery of the Gospel may be a little different at an event for teens than at a men's or women's event, the heart of the message stays true. And at every event, an element of the Gospel is presented and a time for response is given with an army of prayer volunteers ready to pray with people to accept Christ or to rededicate their lives to Christ. The prayer volunteers are also available throughout the events to pray with people.

The events produced by KSBJ Special Events are an ideal platform for partnering with and raising awareness for local nonprofit organizations. The KSBJ Ministry Spotlight highlights a local ministry that matches the heart of the artist. This is a great connection opportunity providing a forum for attendees to gather information and to get involved in serving and supporting local ministries.

Like most nonprofits, the support of volunteers is needed to accomplish the mission. Special Events had approximately 750 dedicated volunteers who served long hours filling crucial roles including back stage loading equipment in/out, praying with people, working as stage hands, running errands, etc. Special Events is governed by a group of volunteer men and women from across the Greater Houston area, who serve as members of its Board of Directors. The board members represent diverse denominations, backgrounds and professions to provide oversight, direction and accountability for the ministry.
