KSBJ on the Street with Johnny B and Reyna Reyna are going to be at Kroger in South of the Heights for the 2014 Souper Bowl of Caring. KSBJ has partnered with the Souper Bowl of Caring and the Houston Texans to Tackle Hunger here in our city! Until Super Bowl Sunday (2.2.14) you will see brown bags in your local Randall’s, HEB and Kroger grocery stores. Here is how it works you can purchase pre packed brown bags then place them in the red barrels inside the grocery stores or make a monetary donation at the register. The donations will be used by Houston food pantries including the Houston Food Bank.

You can participate by registering your Church group your children’s school in the Souper Bowl of Caring by collecting food and donating 100% to the charity of your choice. With the help of the Houston Texans, we’re transforming Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving!

In 2013 more than 260,000 youth participated in Souper Bowl of Caring, collecting more than $9.8 million in dollars and food for local hunger-relief charities. That’s a total of more than $90 million collected since the movement began in 1990! 2014’s goal is to empower 275,000 young people to collect $11 million for charities in their communities. Help grow this movement and tackle hunger in America.

The 2014 Game Plan:
1.Register to receive your free promotional materials.
2.Collect money or canned goods before or on Super Bowl Sunday (2.2.14).
3.Report your results at www.tacklehunger.org to share your victory and inspire others.
4.Donate 100% of your collection to the charity of your choice.
