Congrats to In Flight Winners!
Tuesday, June 9th, 2009Many of you registered to win a training package with KSBJ’s preferred training group, In Flight Running. The stories you shared of why you want to run a marathon blessed and wowed us to no end and needless to say, choosing just 5 winners was very difficult. But through much prayer and discussion, we’re excited to reveal the top 5 winners!
Amber Raley is a grad student at Rice University who attempted to run the marathon in 2007. She trained on her own and it proved to be very difficult on her body. Also this past year has been a tough one for Amber but she’s incredibly positive about the future and completing a marathon the way God intended, triumphantly! We’re so excited to have Amber on the team!!
Courtney LaFon used to be a professional ballet dancer! Courtney was inspired to run by her brother and his wife who are now missionaries and she hopes to run this for them in spirit and also by raising funds for their mission work! Courtney, you’re going to be an amazing asset to this team!
Keith Otto recently started walking and built up to running 5K’s, something everyone around him never imagined they’d see. Keith has also lost a ton of weight and his disbelief this could be anything other than God working through him is what makes him an incredible addition to our team. I can’t wait for the day that his family cheers him on as he crosses that finish line.
Kelly Crutchfield hasn’t lived in Houston long but feels in the short amount of time she’s been here, God has moved in her to do things she never imagined. Kelly was listening to KSBJ about the Marathon Team and realized that in her progress made in losing weight, it was time to take an even bigger step of faith. Kelly exudes joy and I know will be a great cheerleader for our team!
Eden Rule claims that as a child even though she loved sports, she often “sat the bench”. With so much behind her telling her she can’t or shouldn’t, Eden has risen above it all and signed up for the team. We’re so proud of her and know that she represents more than the underdogs, she represents a woman allowing God to use her to her fullest potential. Welcome to the team, Eden!!
