10th Avenue North!

We got to talk with the band 10th Avenue North while we where in Nashville.  There words were very impactful!  We have had many requests to make the interview available.  So here you go...

Our Esther Year

 I was doing a study under a friend of mine - when he brought up the fact that Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene in the garden.  She had been the one from whom He had cast out 7 demons, yet He chose her to be the first to see the Risen Christ in person.  The pastor also talked about Paul 's  thorn in the flesh and why God refused to remove it - it was for Paul's own spiritual good.  A bell went off in my head - I've often thought of myself as sort of a Mary Magdalene with only about 5 out of the 7 demons gone (not that I believe I have demons, I meant just not being completely finished in Christ making me new) But, having the two stories back to back made me consider that it may be that the demons are gone - I'm all made new, but the thorn in the flesh is going to remain to keep me always dependent on God, always working to be better because I'm not finished yet.  It's not to make me less beautiful, it's to make me desire beauty even more in Him.

Do you know what I mean? Do you understand that we often act as though whatever is less than perfect in us is a horrible sort of demon in our life - instead of it being what keeps us seeking God and always dependent on Him instead of on ourselves.

I don't suggest we stop trying to become someone more beautiful and totally like HIM....I'm just simply saying don't demonize every short coming in your life.  Instead, change what you can, and believe that you will continue to be made more beautiful in and by Christ.

The Sky Angel Cowboy!   

Logan and KSBJ were recently on the 700 Club. If you are wondering who Logan is, well, he listens to us  on Sky Angel because he lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. He called us distraught because he had to take down a calf.
