Peace for Christmas

By Ty McFarland

KSBJ exists to share Jesus with people in Houston. Every year during the Christmas season, we have an amazing opportunity to share His message with even more people than normal—thanks to our nonstop Christmas music programming.

You may have heard the word “Chreaster” before—a Chreaster is someone who doesn’t normally attend church, except at Christmas and Easter. It turns out that KSBJ has its own version of Chreasters. They are the people who don’t normally listen to KSBJ, but tune in to enjoy Christmas music! For several years now, our goal has been to reach them with the uplifting music of Christmas and then share Jesus’s message of hope and redemption.

This year, our theme for our Christmas programming will be “Peace for Christmas.” It’s the idea that peace from the holiday rush, peace in our marriages, with our children, in our churches, with our co-workers, peace in all of our relationships, and peace with God, only comes through knowing Jesus, who is the Prince of Peace.

If you love Christmas music, it starts Thanksgiving evening, November 28, so please tune in—and make sure to let your friends and loved ones know too. Even if Christmas music isn’t really your thing, would you join with us in prayer and support?

Pray for success—that many people in Houston will receive the best Christmas gift, ever—a personal relationship with Jesus! And thank you for giving us the gift of your support this Christmas.
