The Biggest News

By now, you have heard the big news on KSBJ.

KSBJ’s signal is moving. No – KSBJ will still be on 89.3FM, but in just a few months, KSBJ will go from covering 4.7 million people to covering all 6.4 million people in the Houston area. That’s 1.7 million more people that can be reached for Christ with God’s message of hope. Katy, Pearland and downtown, who have suffered for years with a crackly or non-existent signal, will be able to clearly hear KSBJ. To God be the Glory!

So – What lessons can we learn from this move? Here are a few.
Whatever you are facing – keep persevering, keep praying and keep waiting. What God did for KSBJ, He will do for you! He will provide in His way and in His time for His glory if we will continue in faith. Be strong and wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)

  1. Keep persevering If you were flooded and still rebuilding your home or starting over, you already know this. You have got to keep moving forward. For over 30 years, KSBJ’s engineering team has been looking for a way to improve KSBJ’s coverage of Houston. Many of you have told us this is the one thing you wanted to see KSBJ fix. So we tried … and it didn’t work. And we tried another idea … and it didn’t work. And tried and tried again. But we never stopped trying.
  2. Keep praying When you are trying to do something big, it’s easy to lose focus. Prayer gives us the power and strength to keep pushing forward. The Bible tells us to ask for wisdom, and God will give it to us. The final solution for us was one that we hadn’t thought of before, and God gave it to our team.
  3. Keep waiting At the lowest point – that’s often where God shows up. Hurricane Harvey destroyed KSBJ’s transmitter, knocking the station off the air. It was at that point, where there seemed to be no hope, that God said, “Let Me step in and take care of it.” When God steps in to restore, He doesn’t just put things back. He makes things better. That’s what He did. He didn’t just help KSBJ get back on the air. He said, “Let Me use this devastation to show My glory and give KSBJ 1.7 million more people for you to give hope.”

Whatever you are facing – keep persevering, keep praying and keep waiting. What God did for KSBJ, He will do for you! He will provide in His way and in His time for His glory if we will continue in faith. Be strong and wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)
