Transformation One by One

By Rhonda Hall

Thank you for helping to make Operation Backpack a record-breaking success!

This summer, KSBJ once again partnered with our friends at YMCA Houston and KTRK Channel 13 for Operation Backpack, the city’s largest school supply drive. The goal this year was to provide 55,000 underprivileged kids with new backpacks loaded with all the school supplies they need to succeed—but our generous community didn’t stop there. Partners, businesses, and caring community members like you contributed nearly $1.8 million in supplies and cash, sending 71,277 students back to school ready for a great year. We are deeply grateful to everyone like you who helped transform our city one backpack at a time!

We also want to thank Harris County Judge Ed Emmett for meeting with Tim McDermott,, Jon Hull and myself this summer to discuss his vision of a healthy city. Like KSBJ and all our listeners, Judge Emmett has a heart to see our city transformed, and he is very supportive of the initiatives KSBJ is pursuing. When our team asked how listeners like you could partner with him in prayer, Judge Emmett mentioned healthcare and rehabilitation for those currently in jail and the recently-released. Will you join us in bringing these needs before the Lord?

"Because of you, 71,277 students went back to school ready for a great year!"
