KSBJ Recognized as Premier Charitable Organization

HOUSTON (August 1, 2012) – KSBJ Educational Foundation recently received a four-star rating by Charity Navigator for the fifth consecutive time recognizing the organization’s sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency. As America’s premier charity evaluator, Charity Navigator provides donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in their charitable choices.

Receiving four out of the four possible stars indicates that the organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities as well as consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Only five percent of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received five consecutive four-star ratings.

“Our heart here at KSBJ is to fulfill God’s plans and purposes for this ministry and to be good stewards of the resources given to us to accomplish our mission,” said Tamara Brubaker, Vice President and Assistant General Manager of KSBJ. “We understand the importance of integrity and excellence in all we do and we are very thankful for all those who support the ministry of KSBJ.”

KSBJ has another reason to celebrate this summer as the station was named Station of the Year by the 2012 PDForum Radio Awards. Held by ProgramDirector.net, a forum consisting of program directors from Christian radio stations around the nation, over 500 members of the website voted to determine the stations recognized.

About KSBJ

This year, KSBJ celebrates 30 years on-air as Houston’s leading listener-supported, non-profit, non-commercial contemporary Christian music radio station. The purpose of KSBJ is to be the voice of hope connecting people to God, through Christian music, community outreach and events. As a listener supported radio station, and a long-standing member of the ECFA, KSBJ’s ministry is managed by a group of volunteer men and women from across the Greater Houston area, who serve as members of its Board of Directors. The board members represent diverse denominations, backgrounds and professions to provide oversight, direction and accountability for the ministry. KSBJ can be heard on 89.3 FM (North/East of Downtown Houston) and 96.9 FM (South/West of Downtown Houston). For more information about KSBJ and additional frequencies, visit www.ksbj.org.
