Last night was the inaugural show for Sunday Night with Melinda! Our first topic? Single and Over 40. We created quite a buzz and unfortunately, we weren’t able to get to all of our callers.
Did you listen to the show? If so, did it help you? Did it leave you with more questions than answers? Due to the popularity of this topic, we will be discussing Single and Over 40 the first Sunday of each month so be sure to tune in.
I think what I came away with above all else is that there are truly many, many great (and available!) singles over 40 out there. Even though we are at different stages, we’re all looking for a place to connect as well as encouragement and validation.
Join me each Sunday night as we discuss topics of interest for everyone. Next week we’re talking taxes! What can we do about 2009 and what should we know about taxes in 2010. Call in and talk directly to our tax expert or send me your questions via this site or my Facebook page, Sunday Night With Melinda.
See you next week!

Hi Kara,
Thank you for listening! I will email you with information that will hopefully help you.

Melinda,
I enjoyed the show about single dating after divorce. My husband and I have both been through divorces and now teach a Life after Divorce/DivorceCare Sunday school class at First United Methodist Westchase.
Is there anyway I could get a recording and transcript of the show? The show made great points and examples and would be a wonderful for our class.
Thanks for your help!
Kara
Thank you for the kind comments, Paul. I understand what you’re saying about finding a place to connect. I was happy to hear of Second Baptist’s events for singles. Can you imagine being in a room of 600 or more singles (and apparently, mostly available) all within a certain age range?
I couldn’t help but thinking how easy it would be for me to connect my callers with each other. But, that’s a little out of my expertise
. Maybe it’s something to consider in the future…
We are going to be talking about single and over 40 the first Sunday of each month so I hope you’ll tune in. I’m sure you have some great stories and experiences others would like to hear about.
And thank you for YOUR service! We are blessed to have men and women like you who unselfishly serve their country, neighbors, friends and family.

Your Inaugural show was quite interesting. I have been divorced since Sept. of 04.
I’m happy, but lost when it comes to dating. Churchs have single events, but at the same time they put chains on you. An example of this is Lakewood Church. They had a dating do’s and doen’t seminar for about 6 months. This program was very well put together and taught real world scenario’s. But it was forbiden to try and pick up on someone there. I understand the reasons.
So, what I would like to hear on your show is where can we meet other christians with no chains, but safe for both parties?
Being a Veteran ( U. S. Navy ), please pass on my condolences to the family. I’m sure your Nephew could of done other things in his life time, but choose to Sacrifice his life for all of us in the United States and those countries that have or wish to have freedom. All Veterans will Honor him along with you and your Family.
GOD Bless,
Paul
