Join The Health Museum for a screening of Contagion, a 2011 American medical thriller with an all-star cast including Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Jennifer Ehle. The film follows a virus transmitted by fomites, which are inanimate objects that can transfer disease to a new host once contaminated by or exposed to infectious agents. Medical researchers and public health officials attempt to identify and contain the pandemic. Contagion was inspired by pandemics like the 2003 SARS epidemic and the 2009 Swine Flu pandemic. Screenwriter Scott Z. Burns consulted with the WHO to create a film as factually correct as possible.
This film is rated PG-13.
