myLIFEspeaks, a 501c3 working in Haiti, announced today that 2018 ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year, Brett Young, will perform a benefit concert on Friday, August 2, 2019 at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, along with special guests Ryan Griffin and The Mrs.
Brett Young has captured the hearts of fans everywhere through his honest lyrics and West Coast-meets-Southern sound, aptly dubbed “Caliville” style. The 2018 CMA New Artist of the Year, who Rolling Stone Country raved is “destined for mass appeal,” has had several No. 1 singles, including “Like I Loved You” and back-to-back No. 1 hits – PLATINUM-certified “Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know.” The latter solidified Brett as the first Country artist to hit the PLATINUMcertification sales mark with a song released in 2017 and has reached the 2X PLATINUM sales mark. In December 2018, Young released his sophomore album Ticket to L.A. and the lead single for the album, “Here Tonight;’ which he cowrote with Ben Caver, Justin Ebach and Charles Kelley, reached number one on the Country Airplay in April 2019.
All proceeds from this concert will raise money for the many impactful community development programs at myLIFEspeaks in Haiti. With a population of 11 million, Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere where over 60% of the population lives below the poverty line. myLIFEspeaks is committed to changing the culture in Haiti one LIFE at a time through 3 main pillars: Family Empowerment, Educational Excellence, and Public Health Impact.
