Teenage Incentive Program, Inc. (TIP) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1995. Our main focus is drop out prevention. Teenage Incentive Program, Inc. has provided services to over 15 different High Schools, 5 Middle School, 2 Elementary schools, and works with the several Crisis Pregnancy Centers in the Houston community over the past 25 years plus. There has been great success with our Mentoring program; however, August 21, 2019 Channel 13 News reported of “A man charged with shooting and killing his 18yo pregnant girlfriend.” This pregnant teen was a client that I was working with and needed a mentor.
On September 28, 2019 at 6 p.m. Teenage Incentive Program Inc. will have their Annual Banquet, celebrating 25 years of Mentoring for pregnant/parenting teens and for at-risk students, which will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Houston-Energy Corridor C, 11730 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. Judge Debra Ibarra Mayfield, a former judge of the Texas 190th District court in Texas and a 1992 graduate of MacArthur High School, will be the Mistress of Ceremony for the banquet.
This banquet will be a kick-off for Drop-out Prevention Month-October. TIP is trying to reconnect with their former students from the past 25 years, but the most important goal is awareness of teen pregnancy and the need for Mentors in the our public schools
