Porsche is only 11 months old, but she already has a big personality—and an even bigger bark. She barks at every noise, every shadow, every passing thought, it seems! If the wind blows, Porsche sounds the alarm. It’s like she lives in a constant state of fear, always on alert, never sure what’s safe.

Honestly? I can relate.

We haven’t started working with Matt (The Dog Father!) yet—he’s the dog behaviorist who’s going to help Porsche (and me!) find peace—but I’m already realizing how much this journey will be about my own heart as much as it is about her training.

Because when fear rules, it spreads. But when peace enters the room, everything changes.

God reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7

"...fear doesn’t come from Him. He gives us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind."

That verse keeps running through my head every time Porsche starts barking like the world’s about to end. I find myself whispering it out loud, both for her sake and mine.

This next season is going to be a learning curve for both of us. Porsche will be learning how to trust, how to relax, and how to listen. And I’ll be learning how to lead with calm instead of reacting with fear—how to show her peace instead of just praying for it.

Fear doesn't leave when we control it, it leaves when we surrender it!

2 Tim. 1: 7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind!

Even if you’re not a puppy parent, I think you’ll be able to see how God uses all things—even a barking, anxious puppy—to grow our faith.

When fear meets faith… peace starts to take the lead.
