Triple-digit heat is expected this week and this year we could be feeling record high temps in H-town. The City of Houston is rolling out a few different option to help you beat the heat. Mayor Sylvester Turner, the Houston Health Department, Harris County Precinct 2, and Reliant Energy are teaming up to open cooling centers across the city.

In addition, Reliant says they are donating $1 million to help people across Texas pay their electricity bills, and it’s easy to get help. You can all 211 and ask for ‘care funding.’ Or you can go to 211texas.org. They have a great online facility as well where you can just plug in your zip code and find the different social service agencies that can help.

Here is the list of cooling centers across our area.
