It wasn’t my first rodeo, but it was definitely my favorite. On Sunday, March 8th, 70,707 people packed NRG Stadium for the most attended rodeo concert of the 2026 season so far. The show, which sold out in less than 30 minutes, wasn’t about an artist—it was about Jesus.

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” — John 12:32 (NIV)

Forrest Frank took the stage and prayed:

“Holy Spirit, you are so welcome in this place. There is only one name that gets lifted up, and that’s the name of Jesus. And Jesus, I thank You that You’re here right now. I pray that every single person would have an encounter with You tonight. I pray that we would leave a sweet aroma of praise to You, and we’re just so thankful for this moment.”

And we all were. You could feel God’s presence in the stadium. As the music started, I saw a young girl crying, soaking it all in; moms dancing alongside their daughters; dads with their hands lifted, phones out, capturing the moment. Everyone there shared the same heart—getting closer to God. And there I was, taking it all in, grateful.

Before the concert even began, Carder and I had the opportunity to open the gate for the calf scramble. If you’ve never seen the Rodeo calf scramble, it’s basically where young contestants run into the arena, catch a calf and earn scholarship money.

Before we opened the gate, we were introduced to a full stadium, put on the big screen, and I was smiling ear to ear.

I stood there waving to the massive crowd thinking of little Reyna. The girl who at the age of about 8 found the radio station 89.3 KSBJ. I remember listening hoping the Jesus they told me about was real because if he was, that changed everything.

I was raised by a single mom overcoming drug and alcohol addiction and my dad was in out of prison. Life wasn’t easy.

Hearing friends and songs talk about a God who loved me and had a purpose for my life gave me hope I desperately needed.

It’s also the reason I’m here today.

I didn’t have a dream to work in radio, my only desire was and still is to follow wherever God calls me. Sometimes that means I’m producing the KSBJ Morning Show, but on this day it meant standing on the dirt of one of the largest stadiums in the country looking into a crowd of happy Houstonians.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…”

Accepting Jesus into my heart has been the best decision I’ve ever made. My life hasn’t been perfect. I’ve been through hard times, I’ve doubted, and I’ve asked, “Why me?” But through it all, God’s grace has kept me and I know He can do the same for you! No matter where you find yourself today, whether you are standing on the dirt or feel like you’re covered in it, keep your eyes on Jesus. Let Him take you places you can’t even dream of.

Before you go, if you’ve never asked Jesus into your heart—or want to do it again—pray this:

“Jesus, I know I’m a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I invite You into my life as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life. Help me follow You every day. Amen.”
