Kim (Kossie) McKee

Kim is a native Houstonian and has been listening to KSBJ since it first signed on the air in 1982. In fact, KSBJ helped inspire Kim to pursue broadcast journalism as a major in college while attending The University of Texas at Austin.

Although she didn’t go immediately into Christian media upon graduating, her testimony is God’s timing was absolutely perfect! Her involvement with KSBJ spans 26 years as a volunteer, donor, and staff member.

In addition to hosting Community Beat, Kim serves as KSBJ’s Sr. Director of Community Relations, and also Lead Pastor along with her husband of 10 years, Kerry, at an inner-city church founded by her father. He pastored 65 years before God called him to his heavenly reward.  

Through her rich family legacy, Kim developed a deep connection to the Greater Houston area. Kim says, “Community Beat provides the perfect platform to raise awareness for the many people, places, and worthy causes that help our city thrive.”

While passionate about serving through her local church and throughout the community, Kim also loves traveling, exploring new places in the city and spending quality time with family and friends.

Her life verse is Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
